Joysticks + buttons doesn't work (keyboard does)

Hey.

I'm using IPAC with arcade joystick and arcade buttons. I've set the MagicEngine's keyboard buttons correctly matching the ones IPAC is emulating but when I start a game, the joystick and the buttons does nothing, however the keyboard works fine.

What could be wrong here?
