#5: Bonks Adventure - simple game play.. cute graphics.. who could ask for more.
#4: SplatterHouse - Not arcade perfect. But still a nice game
#3: China Warrior - Not sure if the game play sucked or it was just challenging..
#2: Ninja Spirit - Makes me feel like I'm playing Ninja Gaiden on the NES
-------
#1: Legendary Axe - the sequal sucks but the first can't be beat for side scrolling action.. Plus the last boss just rulez.. _________________ Niobium

Eh? Makyou Densetsu (Legendary Axe) was good, considering that it was one of the very first games available on PC Engine in 1988. But blatantly asserting that its 'sequel' (which it is not) sucks big time is beyond my understanding. Ankoku Densetsu (erm, Legendary Axe 2) is superior in every department: lavish graphics, impressive boss sprites, huge levels, challenging gameplay, exceptional PSG soundtrack... It's lightyears ahead Makyou Densetsu. And the grand finale is simply awe-inspiring (not even talking about the gigantic final boss).
Oh well... _________________ Kaminarimon HES Music Archive | Tokugawa Corporation | YouTube Channel |

Are we even talking about the same game? Where the guy look more like Conan and less like Tarzan.. where you have to fight metal monkey's with sheilds and lizard skeletons, and all the enemies in the first 2 levels look like a mix between Blanka and Vega from StreetFighter?
I mean.. That game looks more Rastan for the Sega Master System than anything else.
I can agree with the music being better.. But definately not the graphics. _________________ Niobium

I liked LA2, except for the half naked guy running around part. Maybe I need to get in touch with my feminie side. Course if I touched my feminine side too much, I'd never leave the house....
Neutopia 1 & 2
Milatary Madness
Bomberman 94
Dungeon Explorer
And the import of crater maze, with that damn blue cat whos name I can't seem to rememebr now. But he's cool. Even if he is collecting piles of his own poo in that game. |

I thought Ankoku Densetsu (Legendary Axe 2) was miles better than the first one.
Admittedly the first 2 levels are quiet dull but this was the intended atmosphere. The later levels are superb with improved baddies and graphics. I loved the castle and lightning levels. The music and sound effects seem to have taken a huge leaf from Dungeon Explorer with some sound effects sounding identical to D.E.
The character from the import game of Crater Maze was Doraemon |

These are my favourite Hu-cards :
-Aldynes (just awesome and difficult, has anyone ever been to the real ending of the game after finishing it 3 or 4 straight times? I always get stuck at the end of the penultimate stage at the third or fourth time , cannot remember)
-Shubibiman2 ( well done, difficult enough but not too much and interesting shifts from platforms to SHMUPS)
-Jacky Chan ( smooth and fast, just perfect and the soundtrack kicks asses, one of the best sound performances on the PCE)
-Soldier Blade ( actually all the gunhed series but that wouldn't be 5!)
-Aeroblasters ( too many people forget to name this on the Hu-cards rankings)
Sorry i didn't name Ninja Spirit! That's the 6th one! |

I'm glad to see there's another Dragon's Curse fan.
That game was so far ahead of its time, it isn't funny. |
