cd saves

i know the cd games create save files when loaded (or saved via the game) but they end up without a proper name (eg CD_2F91FA47)
is this how the cds are id'ed within ME?

one other question regards the save files within the duo when emulating- some games seem to save into that memory but it doesn't seem permanent. can anyone enlighten me?
