Hey guys. I thought that it would be nice to play Ys Book I & II again.

So started Magic Engine Version 1.0 and started the game (original), and it worked all fine, the gameplay and the sound worked fine, the speech worked fine too....until I reached Goban before I'm supposed to enter Darm Tower.

Everything seemed to work fine until he said his last sentence. In the middle of the last sentence the sound disappear and the game freeze, so I thought that maybe there was something wrong with my PC, so I loaded my save again and tried one more time. Same result.

So then I thought that my game might possibly be f*cked up, so I borrowed the game from my friend (also orginal) and tried it. And I got the same problem

So I tried a bin & cue version of it and checked it out again. And the result was the same.

I tried with all three System Cards and it still doesn't seem to work.

Is there a solution for this problem?

Yes, use a System Card ROM (SYSCARD3.PCE) to run the game or you can try with this version of MagicEngine too :

it fixes the bug in MagicSystem that made Ys lock up.

Sorry, i've replied to a pretty old thread and now I've seen this one. I'll see if the solution works, thanks a lot!
